FCNCC Hosts Interactive Session with Canada–Nepal Parliamentarians in Mississauga

Mississauga, August 27 – The Federation of Canada Nepal Chamber of Commerce (FCNCC) successfully organized an interactive session with Canada–Nepal Parliamentarians, bringing together leaders from both nations to strengthen bilateral relations and economic cooperation.

The program was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Swarnim Waglé, Member of Parliament from Nepal, alongside Canadian MPs Kyle Seeback, Dan Muys, and Amarjeet Gill. The session began with the national anthems of Canada and Nepal, followed by a welcome address from FCNCC President Mr. Bijay Paudel. The engaging discussions were moderated by Esha Subedi, with closing remarks delivered by Secretary Nabin Luintel.

A highlight of the event was a symbolic flag pin exchange ceremony, where Dr. Waglé presented Nepali flag pins to the Canadian MPs, and MP Dan Muys reciprocated with a Canadian flag pin to Dr. Waglé – a gesture of friendship and mutual respect.

Special guests included world cyclist Bhagat Khatri and traveler Ajay Mishra, who has visited 116 countries. They honored the Canadian parliamentarians with the traditional Nepali Topi, further showcasing Nepal’s rich cultural heritage.

The forum featured in-depth discussions on key issues such as bilateral trade, double taxation, import–export opportunities, renewable energy, and investment prospects. An open-floor session also allowed participants to raise questions and share perspectives, fostering constructive dialogue and stronger community engagement.

FCNCC expressed gratitude to Option Train College, the venue sponsor, for their generous support in making the program a success.

The event underscored the growing importance of Canada–Nepal partnerships and highlighted the role of cultural exchange, cooperation, and dialogue in building enduring ties between the two nations.
