NRNA Canada and Laligurans Sports Club hosted “5K Walk” on lasted Saturday on 3rd June across Etonicoke Trail in Brampton focusing for Community Home project in GTA this year. It was third annual community based regular activities among Nepalese community members in existence since 2014. The program was inaugurated by representatives of federal MPP Sonia Sidhu by cutting ribbon. Scores of people participated in the race enthusiastically.
A commitment of $ 18100 was declared by members presented there voluntarily for Community Centre. “This is our long term project but very important aimed to facilitate and consolidate among Nepalese in GTA”, said Mr. Tulsi Prasad Sapkota, present president of NRNA Canada. He urged all members to help ‘hand-in-hand’ for the ambitious program rising ourselves above personal egos and dissatisfactions.

NRNA Canada thanks all Nepali community members and all the participants for your immense participation in the third annual, “5K Walk” organized by NRNA Canada, Ontario regional committee in collaboration with Laliguras sports club on 3 June 2017 on Saturday morning in Brampton city. It was really exciting and fruitful for the whole community. The main agenda of this “5 K Walk “was to build Nepalese Community Center.
Sincere thanks to Mr. Rohit Mehata and Mr. Sarabjit Lachhar for attending in the 5K Walk and representing MP Sonia Sidhu in the program. Congratulation to winners of 5K Run Mr. Bharat Chhetri, Mr. Madhab Gajurel and Ms. Ekata Kandel for securing 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively. Thanks to all volunteers, representatives of different GTA based organizations and sponsors for your support and empathy.
Special thanks to the media support from Mr. Hari Siwakoti and Mr. Gokarna Lamichhane (Canadakhabar.com). We are grateful with Nepalese Canadian Truckers association for sponsoring breakfast and joint sponsoring of good morning coffee by Laliguras Sports Club president Mr. Uttam KC and Real estate business proprietor Mr. Sunanda Subedi.

One more exciting and important achievement of program was that CD $21000.00 was pledged by community activists for Nepali Community House.
This pledged amount would be paid within 5 years time frame. Nepalese Community Center Steering Committee will announce the next fund-raise gala to pledge the donations by all community members very soon and all community members are requested to pledge $1000 or more per family who will be members of Community Center. The community members who want to donate less than $1000 will be regarded as donors and it can be done via website.
